Get the most wear out of every set — here’s how.
One of the biggest benefits of DIY lash extensions is how long they can last — without a salon appointment or constant touch-ups. But how long should your lashes last? And what can you do to stretch the wear?
At Revel Lash, we design our lashes to stay put through long days, workouts, and everything in between — often up to 7–10 days with the right application and care (some go even longer)
Here’s a breakdown of what affects wear time — and how to make the most out of your lash sets.
Average DIY Lash Wear Time
- Beginner wear time: 4–5 days
- Standard wear time: 7–10 days
- Max wear time (with perfect prep and care): 10+ days
Your experience will improve over time. With the right prep, adhesive, and aftercare, Revel Lash sets can stay in place for a week plus.
What Affects Lash Longevity?
1. The right Bond&Seal with proper application
The right glue — and how you apply it — is the foundation of wear time.
- Use a long-wear bond, and apply a thin, even layer to both your natural lashes and the lash segment base.
- Avoid clumps, excess glue, or overly wet application.
- Apply a light layer of the sealant after your application and fuse or squeeze them together to fully adhere them.

2. Placement & Pressure
The closer you place the lash to your natural lash line (without touching skin), the longer it will last. Use your applicator to press and fuse each eye after apply the set.
Pro tip: apply sealant in between your tweezers before fusing them to help your tweezers to not stick.
3. Lash Prep
Clean lashes = longer hold.
- Remove makeup, oil, and residue before applying, using a lash cleanser like our Lash Wash with minimal ingredients is designed to give you a clean slate for your application.
- Avoid primers with oils or conditioners or under eye creams right before your application.
pro tip: apply all your moisturizers, serums and creams after applying your lashes to limit the transfer to your lashes prior to applying
4. Aftercare Routine
How you treat your lashes in the first 24 hours makes a huge difference.
DO:
- Sleep on your back if possible
- Use a spoolie to gently groom them
- Avoid touching or tugging
DON’T:
- Use oil-based products near the eyes
- Expose lashes to steam or water for the first 24 hours
- Rub your eyes (even when they itch!)
How to Sleep in DIY Lashes
Yes — you can sleep in them. Use these tips to help:
- Sleep on your back or with a silk pillowcase (which is great for your hair and skin anyways)
- Avoid tossing and turning if possible
- Make sure your lashes are dry before bed
- If needed you can buy a sleep mask made for lashes to protect them and help you sleep like a champ
When to Remove & Reapply
…Even the best lashes have a limit.
Remove and replace your DIY lashes when:
- The corners begin lifting
- Segments shift or lose shape
- You’ve reached 14+days (or sooner if you notice buildup)
Use a lash-safe remover like our Remover designed specifically to work with our Bond&Seal to take them off without damaging your natural lashes.

Can You Reuse DIY Lashes?
Yes — if you gently remove and clean them, many Revel Lash segments can be reused once or twice.
- Peel off leftover adhesive
- Store them in a clean case
- Avoid soaking or using oil-based removers if you plan to reuse
- Rubbing alcohol and dish soap are great for removing build up and excess oils from the lashes.
